At 7:00 AM, you will depart from Marrakech towards the city of Tinghir. Along the way, you will traverse the stunning landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, passing through small Berber villages and numerous kasbahs. You will then cross the incredible and unique Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which stretches for approximately 145 km and reaches an altitude of 2,260 meters. You will make a stop at the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This location is well-known among cinema enthusiasts, as it has been featured in numerous American films and series, such as Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, The Mummy, and many more. You will have free time to explore this place, have lunch at a local restaurant, and take photos like Hollywood stars.
Continuing your journey, you will reach Ouarzazate, also known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” renowned for its golden-colored oases and countless kasbahs. Passing through Boumalne Dades, you will be able to admire panoramic landscapes along the route and enjoy the fresh air near Timatraouine. Finally, you will arrive at the city of Tinghir, your final destination for the first day of your trip, where you will enjoy dinner and make a stop for the night.
Once breakfast is finished, you will set off to explore the magnificent Todgha Gorges. This natural site offers an extraordinary landscape with its lush green gorges and canyons. You will have free time to have lunch and immerse yourself in the breathtaking nature.
Next, you will continue your journey to the Merzouga Desert to join your camel caravan. It will be a great opportunity to discover the dunes of Erg Chebbi on camelback and admire the contrast of sunlight on the sand. A truly mesmerizing natural spectacle!
Afterwards, you will reunite with your campsite in the heart of the Merzouga Desert and enjoy a delicious dinner under the shimmering stars. The atmosphere will be enhanced by the presence of local nomads, who will invite you to participate in drumming and showcase the art of rhythmic life.
Nothing can compare to the sunrise at Erg Chebbi. It is an exceptional moment not to be missed in the Merzouga Desert! Afterward, you will have breakfast at the campsite and begin your journey back to Marrakech. Along the way, you will pass through the town of Kelat M’Gouna, also known as the rose capital of Morocco. This town is famous for its perfumes and natural beauty products made from rose water.
You will continue through the Atlas Mountains to return to Marrakech, and you should arrive around 8:15 PM. Your driver will then take you to your hotel or riad in Marrakech, marking the end of your trip.
